OUR MISSION

Through the effective reuse of donated items, Bridging improves lives by providing quality furniture and household goods to those transitioning out of homelessness and poverty.

 

WHEN GOOD PEOPLE GET TOGETHER TO DO GOOD THINGS, THEN GOOD THINGS HAPPEN.

Locations: Bloomington (26,000 sq. ft.) Roseville (31,000 sq. ft.)

Year Founded: 1987; Bridging is a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving the Twin Cities.

Clients Served: More than 4,000 per year; more than half of the clients we help are children under 17 years of age. 77% of clients have a household annual income of less than $15,000/year

Volunteers: Nearly 6,000 volunteers donate more than 80,000 hours each year.

  • Bridging is a leader in REUSE – Bridging saves over 10 million pounds from the landfill each year.
  • Product is donated by home donors, furniture companies, hotels, restaurants and the community.
  • 80% from residents, 20% by corporate/institutional donors 

 

MAKE A FINANCIAL GIFT

Whether it’s $1.00 or $1 million, it all makes an impact on our mission! All donations are tax-deductible and are a vital part of our life-enhancing work. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Bridging relies on financial donations from the community; individuals, corporate and foundations, civic and faith-based partners and through our signature special events.

 

MENU OF VOLUNTEER OPTIONS

  • Year-round individual and group engagement options available. Check out the full Menu of Opportunities. Individual volunteers fulfill the roles of warehouse assistance, product sorting, client shopping, office support, furniture/electrical repair and driving truck for product pickup. (Ages 14+)
